Primanti Brothers Part 1
MKH and I went to see AMH in his new location. He lives in a sleepy little town in Eastern Ohio on a tree lined street. Nice place, nice church, what do you want to do now that we've come to see you?
We went to Pittsburg. What's in Pittsburg? Well it was on the way, sort of, to Fallingwater. MKH and I had never been to Pittsburg. We like to explore so we went to check it out.
We scouted out the downtown, took the "Incline" an ancient rail car up the side of Mount Washington and took in the spectacular night view of the Golden Triangle, the stadiums, the bridges and so on. Great and historic little trip. Check it out if you're in Pittsburg.
Next day we went to the "Strip District." It's not what it sounds like. Penn Street is a bustling merchant district with lots of little shops, unique one of a kind family businesses, restaurants, fresh fish, antique stores, it's old, it's historic, it's everything MKH and I like. AMH liked it too.
I was standing outside of the kitchen gadget shop and I overheard a street vender telling a Steeler fan that when a film is made in Pittsburg and a movie character is holding an enormous sandwich in a wrapper, they're holding a sandwich from Primanti Brothers.
He went on to say that the place is the most famous restaurant in Pittsburg and it was literally just right around the corner. I now knew where we'd be having lunch. We stopped by three times and each time the place was packed, chaotic, wonderful. We finally decided the crowd wasn't going to thin out. About that time an enormous cop and a couple of old ladies got up from the counter and the three of us slid in and the show began.
Sitting at the counter in any restaurant is my new favorite place to sit in a restaurant. I'll tell you more about Primanti Brothers in my next post.

Better show than Ed Debevics or the "Soup Nazis." Better yet, it wasn't for show, this was the real thing. It wasn't mean, just colorful. Can't wait for the next installment.
I've got popcorn and soda, just waiting to hear the rest of the story.
This is like an episode of LOST...you just leave me hanging until next week.
