it's okay if it's my idea

Obama says that if there are terrorists (like Bin Laden) in Pakistan and the president Musharraf won't do anything about it he would send in troops.

Those words sound pretty strange for a guy who berates other lawmakers for voting for the Iraq war. I ask, what's the difference between Bush sending troops to Iraq and Obama sending troops to Pakistan?

In my opinion, there is no difference, except that Bush has actual experience leading during a time of war. Obama's ideas are all theoretical.

So do you think Hillary will ask O. to be her running mate? Do you think they could win if that happens? Could a Republican beat them? If so, who?

Hillary will do whatever is politically expedient to get elected, period. Nothing else matters to most politicians. They have shown us that they will even undermine our soldiers fighting on foreign soil to gain political leverage.

I have believed for a long time that Hillary is unelectable. I hope I'm right. The Republicans don't seem to have a strong candidate rising to the top. Although a lot can happen between now and the election.

I can't decide if I think America is ready to elect a female president. Hillary certainly has the best shot of anybody, but people seem to either love or her hate her. I hope you're right, that she couldn't win a general election. But if the Republicans don't produce a strong candidate, that surely increases her chances.

At this point, it looks like McCain has lost steam, along with Mitt Romney (although I find him really interesting...I'm not sure how I feel about the Mormon thing). Guiliani has a lot of support, but there doesn't seem to be anything to distinguish him from the Democrats...certainly not his views on abortion, gay marriage, etc.

I wonder if there's any real possibility that Roe v. Wade will be overturned. If there's no chance, then at the bottom line does it matter that much what the candidate's views are?

This has nothing to do with your post but since I don't have your email address anywhere that I can remember, I wanted to ask if y'all would like to come to lunch with us after church next Sun. Aug. 19th. We're going to be in town for a wedding on saturday and we're already getting together with Josh and Krista and possibly Neil and Amy for lunch, plus Melissa's parents will be there. We'd love to have you join us. I don't know any details yet, but we'll let you know for sure when we do. Sorry for the completely unrelated comment.....

Jason, count us in, at least for now. I may end up having a meeting at 1:00 but that still might work.

The difference between Obama sending in troops and Bush sending in troops is that Obama could sweet talk us into it. Bush isn't the greatest orator and it has cost him.

If Hillary is smart she will run as VP under Obama. But I don't think her pride will let her do that. There is no way she would win the vote. Not that America is not ready for a woman, they are not ready for a B$&^#. She has made too many enemies.

I actually heard someone the other day say they wouldn't vote for a black president. I was shocked. I can't believe we are still that close to racism.
